A Very English Garden

Drawing its inspiration from the Arts and Crafts Movement, ‘A Very English Garden‘ designed by Janine Crimmins for sponsors The Claims Guys, will feature in the Artisan Category at the 2018 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Designed to stand the test of time, both physically and aesthetically and to be simply a beautiful garden conveying no theme or message, the garden will provide a space purely to bring joy to the onlooker.

The focal point will be a dry stone, half-domed niche displaying the skill of the craftsman, offering a sheltered view of the sumptuous and jewel toned planting which includes many familiar garden favourites.

English stone will be used in the construction – dressed on site – to inspire visitors to appreciate quality workmanship and support traditional craftsmen using local materials.

Janine (pictured above) is an established designer, based in the North-West, who has been creating beautiful gardens for nearly 20 years. She has received a number of awards for her designs including four RHS Gold medals and a Best in Show.

She will be using contractor Andrew Loudon, a Master Craftsman, who is recognised as one of the leaders in his field of dry stone walling. Andrew works both on public and private commissions in the UK and abroad for designers, architects and homeowners. He actively promotes the craft of dry stone walling through his involvement with The Dry Stone Walling Association, of which he is a longstanding trustee and Chief Examiner.

As a husband and wife team, Janine and Andrew work together to create beautifully designed and crafted gardens and judging from the design plan, I feel sure that this will prove a very appealing garden to Chelsea visitors.
