BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2019 APL Avenue

For the fourth year running, the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) return to BBC Gardeners’ World Live with the popular Show Garden competition, APL Avenue.

This year’s Show will take place between 13th and 16th June 2019 at the NEC Birmingham. APL Avenue is an opportunity for five APL contractors to feature their inspirational, aspirational and relatable gardens at BBC Gardeners’ World Live with the winning garden awarded Best APL Avenue Show Garden by the Show Garden Assessment panel, plus a public vote to crown the visitor’s favourite.

The 2019 Show will see an international inspired theme, with the five gardens giving visitors the opportunity to witness first-hand what variety, quality, creativity and interpretation of a brief can be achieved in a small space when engaging the skills of a professional landscaper.

The five designs are each infused with global garden styles and planting ideas from Moroccan patterns and Mediterranean colours to Cambodian exotics and the New York skyline.

Bob Sweet, Horticultural Director of BBC Gardener’ World Live explains that the APL avenue always features an incredible collection of Show Gardens and 2019 will be no exception: “The new globetrotting theme is a wonderful way of illustrating to visitors how travel memories can be used to influence the look and feel of their space, offering up an opportunity for unusual and exciting designs that still work in an average urban or suburban back garden,” he said.

Members of the APL team and the landscapers will be on hand throughout the four days of the event to meet over 100,000 visitors and share their wealth of knowledge.

BBC Gardeners’ World Live runs from 13th to 16th June 2019 at the NEC Birmingham. Tickets are from £25.
