Hardy’s ready to reveal Anemone ‘Frilly Knickers’!

Following the cancellation of this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants are going ahead with the planned launch of their new star ‘bloomer’ Anemone Frilly Knickers, to coincide with what would have been the first day of the show on 6th July 2020.

Anemone Frilly Knickers is a lovely new mutation from Anemone Dreaming Swain and has delicate flowers that appear fully double when in bud, opening to semi-double, ruffle edged, with frilly petals. These frilly petals inspired nursery owners, Rosy and Rob Hardy, to give the plant its fun and frivolous name!

This easy to grow perennial has abundant soft white blooms, flushed with pale violet with a striking deeper violet reverse on the petals. It is set to be a popular addition to any sunny or semi shady border, providing strong and sturdy grown with a prolonged flowering season from June through to October.

Commenting Rosy Hardy said: “We were really looking forward to RHS Hampton Court as we had the honour of being featured as Master Grower this year. We were also looking forward to introducing Anemone Frilly Knickers to visitors to the Show, as we know is going to be a big favourite with gardeners as it is very easy to grow and has such attractive and long flowering blooms. Although we obviously won’t be able to sell our Frilly Knickers at the Show this time, we are still able to offer to gardeners, as we have plenty of plants in stock for both orders online and direct from the Nursery.”

Anemone Frilly Knickers is available in 1 litre pots and is available to order online from www.hardysplants.co.uk or from the nursery at Freefolk Priors, Whitchurch, Hampshire.
