Malvern Plant Fair set for September 2020

It is heartening news to learn that the first of an exciting series of Open-Air Fairs for Passionate Gardeners, is set to take place in September. Launched by the Three Counties, the Malvern Plant and Garden Fair will run on 12th to 13th September 2020.

After the disappointment of the spring and summer cancellations due to Covid-19, this new plant fair is more than welcome. The 80 acre Three Counties Showground in Worcestershire, with its stunning backdrop of the Malvern Hills, offers the perfect location for this new spacious, socially distanced, outdoor event.

Perfectly timed for the peak planting season in Autumn, the event is offering a restricted number of ticket holders the chance to meet and buy a fantastic selection of plants and bulbs, from some of the UK’s top nurseries and specialist growers.

Focal point of the fair will be the Plant Arena, in the heart of the showground, which will play host to 36 award-winning specialist UK nurseries and growers including Fibrex Nurseries, Hare Spring Cottage Plants, Pheasant Acre Plants and Palm Exotics. Some of the nurseries will be exhibiting newly launched plants including the award-winning bloomer – Anemone ‘Frilly Knickers’ from Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants.

Several of the nurseries are also offering a special click and collect service where keen gardeners can pre order their favourite plants and bulbs and then collect their order directly at the fair.

There will also be lively talks and demonstrations utilising a covered stage with speakers including Carol Klein, food writer Mark Diacono and floral designer Jonathan Moseley.

There will be well spaced seating and picnic areas around the show ground, various craft stands and a variety of eating options.

The Malvern Plant and Garden Fair opens at 10am to 4pm on the Saturday, 12th and Sunday 13th September 2020, but for those who can’t wait, there is a strictly limited number of exclusive Early Arrival tickets for the Plant Arena, available to book in advance, allowing you to arrive from 8.30am.

Commenting, Head of Shows, Di Walton said: “We were obviously deeply saddened at the cancellation of our Spring and Autumn Shows following the Covid-19 restrictions. We have been working hard to provide an effective solution which meets the demands of these difficult times. We are therefore very excited to be launching this new series of Malvern Plant and Garden Fairs as it is hugely important to us to be able to support the UK nurseries, the exhibitors and our loyal visitors.

Di further commented that they were delighted to be launching the first of these positive and uplifting events and they look forward to seeing everyone again at the Showground in September.
