Manchester Flower Festival 2023

Organisers of The Manchester Flower Festival are on the hunt for budding and professional gardeners to take part in the 2023 Festival which returns to the city in May.

Each year the festival attracts large numbers to the city as community groups, charities, schools, florists, landscapers and businesses join together to put on a wonderful display of floral excellence.

Marking the start of summer and taking place across the late May Bank Holiday weekend, the festival, organised annually by the Manchester City Business Improvement District, will be a fabulous floral spectacle, featuring a ‘Manchester in Flowers’ floral trail, stunning show gardens and green installations across the city centre.

Now in its fifth year, the event attracts tens of thousands of visitors into the city, bringing fun and floral frivolity to its streets, alongside al fresco dining, live music and family entertainment.

The festival offers the chance for seasoned and aspiring gardeners to showcase their talent while helping create a unique, floral experience across the city.

Opportunities to take part include the headline gardens category, where large scale gardens and displays, created by local gardeners, landscapers, garden groups and brands are staged in locations across the city’s main shopping district. There are also opportunities for brands or companies to sponsor a garden.

Floristry displays will take place in the festival’s Floral Marquee while the Bijou Gardens category, supports the larger festival gardens with smaller gardens ideal for individuals, community groups or colleges and schools.

The Festival Market will feature everything from plants, produce, garden décor and street food and offers the opportunity for local traders to sign up and sell their wares.

Local businesses in the city can show their support by creating a festival window, store display or hosting dedicated events.

Volunteers are also needed to help at the event where they can gain valuable experience and enjoy being part of the team at one of the city’s flagship events.
