Showcasing the latest in Urban Gardening

City dwellers are invited to experience the cutting-edge techniques of urban gardening at the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Urban Garden Show, taking place from 27th to 28th October at the RHS Lindley Hall and RHS Lawrence Hall, Westminster, London.

Visitors will find the perfect place to browse and buy an exotic assortment of plants for city abodes – whether they’re for flat, balcony, small courtyard or even a window box. For one weekend only, Peckham’s popular Green Rooms Botanical Market will relocate to Westminster, bringing an eclectic mix of products from some of London’s top independent botanical businesses.

Stock up on tropical houseplants, pots, terrariums, cacti, macramé and botanical prints, or discover the next indoor gardening trend. Expert George Farmer will display an unusual and emerging form of underwater gardening called ‘aquascaping’ and will be running workshops to inspire visitors to try their hand at creating their own submerged miniature landscapes with aquatic plants.

A host of creative workshops and talks will help everyone get to grips with urban gardening and will run throughout the show. Houseplant expert Anne Swithinbank will be looking at how to care for your houseplants while Alys Fowler will focus on growing in small areas to make the most of all spaces. Visitors will also be invited into the virtual world with Rob Dwiar, who will take a look at landscape design in computer games alongside PlayStation4 game demonstrations.

Bonsai training demonstrations will be run by Bonsai Kai and terrarium building sessions by London Terrariums.

Tickets can be booked online – from 3rd September 2018 – via the RHS website at: https://www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/rhs-london-shows/urban-garden-show
