Three Counties midsummer/autumn events

Three Counties have announced the welcome news that not only will their Malvern Autumn Show go ahead as planned at the end of September – they will also be hosting a brand new, magical open air Midsummer Garden Life Festival in June, 2021.

The much loved Malvern Autumn Show is planned to run on the weekend of 25th-26th September 2021, however, the Show’s organisers have been so overwhelmed with the number of specialist growers and nurseries who wish to attend the Show that they are looking at adding extra dates to the event to ensure they can provide visitors with a crowd free and specious celebration of the Autumn harvest planting season.

As always, the vibrant Autumn Show will offer visitors a selection of retail opportunities from over 200 trade stands, selling the finest plants, bulbs, special gifts and lifestyle accessories for gardens and home. There will be demonstrations from the UK’s favourite gardening celebrities as well as the masters of the autumn food feast.

The Show, a cherished fixture in the UK Autumn events calendar, has been run successfully at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern for over 25 years. This year, it coincides with the end of the re-arranged RHS Chelsea Flower Show in September and organisers believe that both Shows can run successfully in tandem and will generate a much-needed seasonal bonanza for gardeners and food lovers alike.

The exciting new Midsummer Garden Life Festival will run from 23rd June and 24th June, (Midsummer Day) 2021. After the disappointment of the cancellation of the RHS Malvern Spring Festival in May, this new event promises to be an enchanting cultural celebration of plants, nature and creativity, inspired by the date and the Festival’s magical theme of Shakespeare’s ‘Midsummer’s Night’s Dream’.

Plants will be available from some of the UK’s leading growers and nurseries, plus there will be ample retail therapy opportunities.

There will also be a selection of captivating performances of drama, music, poetry and talks, all held in the spacious, open air theatre.

Commenting, Head of Shows, Di Walton said: “Following the disappointment of the cancellation of RHS Malvern Spring Festival in May we are thrilled to be able to offer all our members, visitors and all the nurseries and retailers who support us, with these two, exciting events.

One of the few positives to come from the Lockdown in Spring 2020, was the huge growth in the number of people getting out and enjoying nature and their gardens, which has generated an estimated 3 million new gardeners in the UK*. We are delighted to be able to provide these two spacious outdoor events, where visitors will have the time and space to buy plants from the best UK nurseries and growers and to learn more about the joy of nature and gardening.

Having held the highly successful socially distanced Malvern Plant and Garden Fair last Autumn we have learnt a great deal about providing a crowd free event and we look forward to welcoming visitors to the Three Counties Showground in June and in September in celebration of all the beauty and magic that these two seasons have to offer.”

These two events are really good news for all garden lovers. You can keep up-to-date with events at Three Counties by visiting: https://www.threecounties.co.uk
