Garden with a View – RHS Tatton

Garden designer Pip Probert is no stranger when it comes to designing gardens at RHS Tatton Park Flower Show. Pip has designed gardens for the show from the inception of the north’s very own RHS extravaganza and 2021 will prove no exception for the award-winning designer when she brings a ‘Garden with a View‘ to Tatton.

Pip has become familiar with viewers of the popular BBC2 ‘Your Garden Made Perfect’ series as she tackled a variety of design assignments. Her design company, Outer Spaces Landscaping Ltd., is based on the Wirral, Cheshire. For 2021 RHS Tatton she has designed a rectangular garden with a semi-circle shape protruding from the side access.

There will be a bespoke pergola feature, constructed using wooden sleepers and decorative screens to form a roof structure, gravel paths and a decking area, constructed using scaff planks.

At the back of the circular deck is a raised planter hugging a seating area. Within the planter is a feature plant to the left and a water blade feature to the right – discretely positioned behind the planting, giving the sound of water without dominating the area.

The garden is designed as a place to sit and enjoy your surroundings while incorporating and making the most of the borrowed view of the natural landscape beyond. Colours will be soft and subtle with lots to see walking throughout the garden.

Pip has become a popular designer with the Tatton crowds and we are sure her 2021 RHS Tatton garden will deliver a host of ideas both structural and planting that we can use in our own gardens.

The RHS Tatton Park Flower Show opens on Wednesday 21st July to 25th, 2021. Visit www.rhs.org.uk for details.
