Petersham Nurseries Autumn events
As we enter the autumn season it seems timely to mention that Petersham Nurseries, Richmond, Surrey, will be running a series of events throughout the season.
A workshop – Kitchen Garden Planning for Autumn – is being held on Tuesday 13th September, 2016 and runs from 11am to 4.30pm. Cost: £95 including lunch. Amanda Brame, from the horticultural team will host the workshop and demonstrate how to bring the kitchen garden alive at home, even in the smallest spaces. She will also look at how to keep the kitchen garden active through the last of the summer weeks and leading into autumn and winter.
The event also includes a tour of the Petersham House kitchen garden for an introduction to soil preparation and maintenance. A seasonal two-course lunch with prosecco will take place in the restaurant and will offer a chance for all to discuss their new learning. The workshop will close with afternoon tea and a Q&A session.

Petersham House also has an open day for the NGS on Sunday 25th September 2016 from 11am to 4pm giving visitors the chance to see the 150ft long double borders in all their splendour.
On Tuesday 27th September from 11am to 12.30pm a workshop on bulb planting is also taking place (Tickets £20) again available from the website link above.
Petersham will host a wine tasting: ‘Great wines from Italian indigenous grape varieties’ on Saturday 1st October 12pm to 1.30pm (£20) and on Saturday 15th October 3pm to 5pm, they will host a Petersham Cellar Wine Lunch: ‘Piedmont and its Teasurers’ (£75).
Autumn Wreath Making takes place on Thursday 20th October from 11am to 1.30pm under the guidance of Thomas Broom-Hughes and Amanda Brame when you will have the opportunity to learn the heritage of wreath making after which you will create your own garden inspired autumn wreath. Ticket price includes all materials.
As well as attending an event or workshop, visitors to Petersham can dine in the restaurant, browse an array of plants and find one-off antiques in the gift shop. Booking essential for all events.
