Record number of specialist nurseries for Spring Malvern

The finest specialist nurseries from across the country will come together in RHS Malvern’s famous Floral Marquee at the 33rd Spring Festival Show (Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th May, 2018).

The RHS Malvern Spring Festival is always one of the most popular shows in the gardening calendar and this year sees 70 award-winning nurseries packed into the marquee – four times as long as an Olympic swimming pool – a record breaking number.

At the centre will sit the RHS Master Grower exhibit, featuring the multi gold-medal winning and much-loved Avon Bulbs, selected by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) for their ethical and sustainable practices as well as their range of top quality plants. Avon Bulbs have exhibited at RHS Malvern Spring Festival for 25 years and take enormous pride in growing plants that are not readily available elsewhere. They will be bringing some of the beauty of the Somerset countryside with them as they showcase an amazing variety of spring bulbs.

Chris Ireland-Jones, owner of Avon Bulbs says that RHS Malvern Spring Festival has always been their favourite event of the spring: “The location is great, it is a peak time of year for bulbs, so we have plenty of excellent material to show and sell,” he says. “On top of that, the gardening hormones are coursing through our customers’ veins, so it is usually a terrifically successful show,” he added.

RHS Malvern will also welcome eight newcomers to the Spring Show including Thorncroft Clematis Ltd., The Tiny Plant Company (rock and alpine plants & ferns), Battlesbridge Mills (herbs) and Scamp’s Quality Daffodils.

Head of RHS Malvern Spring Festival, Diana Walton said: “Many of our visitors head straight for the Floral Marquee as soon as they arrive. They know it’s their first chance to stock up their borders at the start of the growing season and immerse themselves within a sensory extravaganza of colour and scent.”
